Introduction
Since I took on the job of Premier in September 2007, my government has worked hard to protect Queensland’s lifestyle and prosperity.
We’ve maintained a strong economy, helped make housing more affordable and helped ease the pressure on household budgets from petrol and grocery prices.
We’re building new hospitals and rebuilding others, working to clear elective surgery waiting lists and encouraging people to take steps to prevent illness.
We’re delivering more kindergarten places, upgrading older schools and investing in student literacy.
We’re protecting the quality of life of our regional centres with careful planning.
And we’re tackling major challenges from urban traffic congestion to the global threat of climate change.
I’m proud of my government’s achievements over the last 12 months and look forward to continuing to serve Queenslanders and making our great state even better.
